San Miguel de Salinas: The quaint village of San Miguel de Salinas is located inland and 75 meters above sea level. This makes it the highest place on the Orihuela Costa. From the south side on lemon and orange groves. The characteristic streets have an authentic Spanish atmosphere. The market is here every Wednesday and every Wednesday.
Beaches: The nearest beaches are Torrevieja, Playa Flamenca and La Zenia. This can be reached within a ten-minute drive. San Miguel de Salinas is very popular with golf enthusiasts, because there are three well-known golf courses nearby: Las Colinas, Las Ramblas Golf and Real Club de Golf Campoamor.
Cave Homes: San Miguel de Salias is known for its Cave Dwellings (Las Cuevas). Dozens of these houses are located next to the two main streets in the center and date back to the 18th century. Most of them are private homes. Some of them are home to small shops and art galleries run by local artists. There is a restaurant in one of the cave houses. The most notable cave dwelling is the local church. Inside, it has been completely restored.
Fiestas: Several parties are organized every year. The biggest celebration is the tribute to the patron saint San Miguel, after whom both this place and the church are named.
Villamartin Golf was designed by Paul Putman in 1972. It is an 18 hole, par 72 that is very challenging to play. The first 9 holes are located at the highest point of the golf course and offer beautiful views thanks to the hilly nature of the landscape.
Zenia Boulevard is a true shopper's paradise. One of the largest open-air shopping centres in Europe!
